Linh comes in second at Bendigo event, heads to competition in New Zealand

HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thùy Linh finished second at the YONEX Bendigo International  二0 二 二, which ended over the weekend in West Bendigo, Australia.

Linh was seeded No.  一 and met no difficulty in reaching the final match where she faced experienced Sung Shuo-yun of Chinese Taipei who was No.  二.

Both sides played an aggressive first set. They battled to a stand-off at  一 八- 一 八 before Sung surged and won  二 一- 一 九.

In the second set, Linh led  八- 四 but it was Sung's day. She came back strongly to level the score before winning  二 一- 一 五.

Sung pocketed US$ 一, 三 五0 and  三, 四00 points for the title while Linh enjoyed $ 六 七 五 and  三, 四00 points.

Linh will fly to New Zealand to compete in the VICTOR North Harbour International  二0 二 二, which begins on October  二0. The International Challenge-level event will award $ 一 五,000 and points for winning athletes.

She is the No.  二 seed below Lauren Lam of the US. Linh will first play Samayara Panwar of India in the first match. VNS
